We seek an experienced and motivated Construction Production Manager to join our dynamic team at Inco Building System. Construction Production Managers oversee, coordinate, and manage construction processes across multiple departments and project management teams.
As part of their job, Inco Building System Construction Production Managers monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective action to ensure an efficient workflow and achieve project goals.
- The position is full-time, Monday through Friday.
- The applicant must hold a valid NC driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Salary for a position is determined by the candidate's experience.
- Bonuses and profit-sharing with conditions are part of the position.
- The Production Manager will report directly to the VP of Construction.
- The Production Manager will supervise, coordinate, and manage all production staff and project management staff.
- The Production Manager will oversee schedules, resource allocation, quality control, and safety compliance across all teams, including site operations.
- The Production Manager will ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
Education:
- Preferred degree: The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in construction management, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or extensive experience in construction, design, and management.
- Relevant fields of study: Civil engineering, architecture, building science
- Important skills gained through education: Project management, cost estimating, scheduling, safety regulations, building codes, contract administration
- Professional certifications: Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
Experience:
- Five to Seven years of experience managing commercial construction teams
- A strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and project management software.
- Experience managing commercial construction projects, preferably Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects, on time and within budget.
Preferred Skills:
- Inco Building System Construction Production Manager must possess strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, time management, technical knowledge of construction techniques, proficiency in project management software, risk management, and adaptability to changes in the environment; effectively coordinating teams to ensure quality standards are met, budgets are kept within budget, and safety rules are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall Production Management:
- It is the Production Manager's responsibility to ensure that all jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to a high quality.
- The Production Manager represents the company on all production-related issues.
- Plan and execute comprehensive production schedules that align with project timelines and deliverables across multiple departments and teams.
- Identify potential delays and correct them across all departments.
- Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials efficiently across departments.
- Review department performance and address issues at regular progress meetings.
Quality Control:
- Assist in establishing and enforcing strict quality control standards throughout all phases of construction.
- Conduct quality inspections and audits to ensure building codes and specifications are met.
- Implement corrective actions when necessary to identify and address quality issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in construction management (e.g., site operations, carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
- Ability to lead and manage diverse departments effectively
- Ability to manage project budgets and schedules effectively
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively and solve complex problems
- Knowledge of construction management software and project planning tools
- Professional certifications:
Advantage but not required: PMP (Project Management Professional), LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
- Technical skills:
Proficiency in construction management software, project scheduling tools, and cost estimation programs
- Experience with specific construction types:
Commercial and/or industrial construction, and pre-engineered metal building erection and construction.
