We seek an experienced and motivated construction estimator to join our dynamic team at Inco Building System. As a construction estimator, it is your responsibility to price, submit, and win projects with accurate budgets and timelines that produce a profit for the company.
- The position is full-time, Monday through Friday.
- The applicant must hold a valid NC driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Salary for a position is determined by the candidate's experience.
- Bonuses and profit-sharing with conditions are part of the position.
- The Estimator will report directly to the Chief Estimator.
- The Construction Estimator is responsible for analyzing bid specifications, engineering data and drawings, and construction drawings to ensure all details are clear and understood to successfully price and be awarded the project.
- The Estimator is responsible for analyzing construction project plans, specifications, engineering, and site conditions to develop accurate costs estimates for materials, labor and equipment needed to complete the project.
- The Estimator is responsible for reviewing plan documents, drawings, soliciting vendor bids, and calculating all potential project risks.
- Inco Building System Estimators' goal is to price, submit and win successful projects with accurate budget cost and timeline estimates that produce a profit.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or extensive experience in construction, design, finance, and management required.
- Technical certification in construction estimating: Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)
- Technical certification: Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A)
Experience:
- Five-year practical experience estimating commercial construction, preferably Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Client Relations: The client relationship refers to meeting with the building owner, understanding their requirements, goals, and expectations, as well as identifying precisely what they want from the project.
- Estimating Systems: A proficient understanding of cost estimation systems, including the procedures, tools, and data used to accurately predict project costs -as well as applying various estimation methods, analyzing historical data, and generating reliable cost estimates based on project scope and complexity.
- Develop Project and Documents: Provide project development services and involve all required professional services, vendors, and suppliers in the process of estimating and pricing the proposed work description and scope-of-work.
- Review of Project Documents: Ability to analyze owner submitted project documents to fully understand the project work description and the scope-of-work.
- Site Analysis: Conduct site visits to assess project conditions, potential challenges, and access issues or limitations.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and record all potential risks related to the project including weather, labor, materials, permit issuance, special requirements, and conditions at project site location.
- Costs Analysis: Determine and itemize all bid components and their costs related to and required to complete the project, including architectural, engineering, building materials, labor, and equipment costs, and special contracting costs when required.
- Vendor Bidding: Notification, requests and submission of RFPs and RFQs, obtaining, evaluating, and comparing all bids, and rewarding the winning bidders.
- Develop Costs Estimates: Create project budget and contingency plans.
- Proposal for Building Owner Review: Write/prepare/submit a professionally written bid proposal for building owners that highlights key project details, pricing strategies, timeline for project, and options available.
- Timeline of the Entire Project: The proposal will include timelines and cumulative crew hours for completing the entire project for each of these phases: land survey engineering, pre-construction development, engineering and design, civil and earthwork, site preparation and grading, manufacturing of the steel building, foundation preparation and installation, building erection and construction, trade contractor systems installation, interior building finishing, site improvements, flatwork, parking lots, municipal building inspections, and the closing phase of the job.
